East Coast Day 5 - Kek Lok Cave, Home and Summary

Morning we went to Ming Court Dim Sum (明閣香港點心) for dim sum breakfast. I have read on the online review that this restaurant usually attracts large crowd but since it's Monday and we came early, we were seated without any delay.

Sharing table with a local Ipoh uncle and he praised Ming Court for its taste and quality, comparing to other Ipoh dim sum restaurants. All of their waiters are old aunties uncles as they have been working here since young. We really like to take one of each plate but there are only two of us. Their dim sum is nice and most importantly the price is acceptable.

Next we went to Kek Lok Cave. We're not Buddhist so we're only going there to check out the cave.

We did not see much tourist when we were there. Most of the visitors are locals going there for jogging.

Outside the cave, you can already see the amazing work of the nature. In Chinese we have a phrase 鬼斧神工 which is a perfect match of this view.

Entering the cave.

The cave leads you to an open landscape, probably the origin of the name Kek Lok 極樂(世界) "peaceful paradise".

We spent some time doing nothing idling there. After that we hit on the road and got back to our home at Selangor around 3 p.m..

As summary, We have traveled to East Coast for around 1250 km in 5 days. The route we took is:
Home > Kuantan > Kuala Dungun > Kuala Terengganu > Kota Bahru > Lenggong > Ipoh > Home

A few interesting things I realized in the journey:
1. Kota Bharu is more developed compared to Kuala Terengganu;
2. I cannot understand Kelantanese Malay dialect;
3. Malaysia have very bad museum (very bad);
4. It's not a wise idea to travel to East Coast during puasa period. You would definitely missed out a lot stuff such as local food.
